General Summary

The Strategic Business Partner supports the Americas global leadership development strategy by engaging in activity that increases overall client satisfaction and loyalty with our existing clients (retain); maximizes penetration with our existing clients (grow); and increases market share (acquire) specifically for CCL’s work with the federal government and military. This individual works in partnership with another Government Sector SBP, key faculty, subject matter experts, and project management to meet clients’ needs and bring business to CCL. Takes the lead role in account planning and targeting, prospecting, qualifying, and business follow-up. Ensures optimal presentation of CCL capabilities, materials, and products to Center clients.



Requirements



Principal Duties and Responsibilities




  1. Leads client relationship management team in developing and implementing client acquisition strategies for the government sector.
  2. Initiates contact with potential and existing clients within the government sector. Proactively develops and advances new accounts and relationships that support CCL strategies.
  3. Acquires and documents in appropriate CRM systems client account information and disseminates knowledge to CRM team.
  4. Initiates contact with major clients. With appropriate subject matter expert(s) and client, assesses client needs to determine desired learning outcomes. Links outcomes to CCL portfolio for the client and sells ability to deliver outcomes by articulating CCL’s value proposition.
  5. With faculty, negotiates design and delivery with clients within established guidelines.
  6. Links with other team members to develop planning, communication, and processes thus ensuring client ease throughout implementation.
  7. Responsible for managing, updating, and communicating a robust pipeline from lead/prospect identification through contract.
  8. Serve as Client Relationship Manager for major governmental accounts including military; manages and maintains key client relationships for the purpose of building long-term business.
  9. Assume responsibility for account documentation and data maintenance.
  10. Maintain working knowledge of government purchasing practices and requirements, develop additional purchasing vehicles as possible, and keep team and relevant CCL functions apprised of government marketing and purchasing issues.


Specific Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required




  1. Graduate business degree (or progress towards) or commensurate experience (i.e. service in the military and/or federal government) required.
  2. 6-10 years proven sales experience working in a corporate or government environment (intangible product sales experience preferred.) Experience selling in the government sector strongly preferred.
  3. Demonstrated skills in targeting and prospecting for new clients.
  4. Demonstrated ability in building profitable business.
  5. Effective interpersonal skills and the ability and desire to work with and present to diverse levels of a prospect’s personnel, including senior executives in both formal and informal settings.
  6. Demonstrated ability to advance large-scale account opportunities, resulting in revenue generation.
  7. Demonstrated ability to work with senior managers and executives, including senior military personnel.
